Doesn't Tort look happy? I think he was feeling like he looks in this picture. Earlier today, he was walking from the kitchen into the laundry room when David decided that the door should be shut. Tort wasn't moving fast enough & his tail was caught in the door. He screamed like a wildcat! Which then set David screaming & crying. I ran to open the door to save Tort & his tail was crooked, had to catch him to check it out. He lost several good size chunks of fur, but everything (except the fur) went back into place. It's hard to see here, but immediately to the right of his left front paw you can kind of see the skinned tail. Looks a little like one of his stripes.
